Two Sides to One Truth - Announcing 'The Honourable Boytoy'
I've hinted in some of my more recent posts that I've been working on another full-length novel, and I'm excited to announce that it's now available!
It's called The Honourable Boytoy - a title which is one of a number of almost unavoidable nods to John le Carré (in this instance taking his Honourable Schoolboy title and, as it were, Voss-ifying it!) - and it's set in 1964, in Vienna, London, and a handful of other places mired in the intrigue and tension that arises when the intelligence services of two opposing ideologies face off in the twilight.
Well - I say opposing. Inevitably, my take on the Cold War requires that both sides are almost fanatical in their belief that the way to command - or break - the loyalty of a male agent is through tease and denial, through chastity, and through oral service. That's just unavoidable, when you think about it (and believe me, I think about it slightly more than I should...).
Essentially I've written what may be the first novel in the genre "Cold War Femdom Espionage Thriller": The Honourable Boytoy is both a standalone spy novel with intense femdom woven through it, and an exploration of one man's descent from unquestioning duty to submissive devotion with a deep, coherent espionage plot at its core.
This novel sits at the meeting point of John le Carré's moral ambiguity and raw, character-driven Vossian femdom denial.
In other words - two sides to one truth. And I think there's something thematically very satisfying about that; I may have to explore the conceptual overlap more in future!
The Honourable Boytoy is available now from Mafeking Press and major eBook retailers, as perhaps a slightly grittier companion to my other genre works, including The Ruritanian Pretender and On Chestnut Tree Lane.
It may well be like no other femdom novel you've read before - and I mean that in the best possible way.
(And, a small Easter egg for my regular readers of The Voss Papers - I have included Mrs Adler, with typewriter ribbon stains on her fingers!)
